There\u2019s really no rule against buying in the month of August,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of getting \u201cscared\u201d from trading at this time,&nbsp;<strong><em>Raz<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;pointed out that investors should instead consider the ghost month as an opportunity to go bargain-hunting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile historically weak, investors should take it as an opportunity to buy the dips and initiate positions in their favorite stocks. For a lot of investors, they see weakness as an opportunity to even improve their cost,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For sectors to look out for with strong growth potential,&nbsp;<strong><em>Raz<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;listed financial and power sectors with a dash of opportunistic buying of select conglomerates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe suggest investors look at sectors that can sustain earnings growth. We continue to prefer the financials sector on the back of still healthy loan growth and improving lending margins. We are also bullish on the power sector which is seen to benefit from inelastic power demand and higher spot market prices,\u201d he added. \u201cWe also like conglomerates with consumer-centric portfolios that benefit from the country\u2019s economic resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BDO Securities further stressed that a down or flat market still provides investors with decent returns and not a reason for them to stay on the sidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor active investors who like trading, a flat market offers an opportunity to trade in and out of a well-established range\u2013buying near support and selling at or near resistance. A down market doesn\u2019t mean no opportunities to make decent returns. Rather, you just need to be more selective of the stocks to buy and manage your expectations in terms of returns,\u201d Raz pointed out. \u201cFor investors with a long-term view, our comprehensive research coverage provides up-to-date fair value estimates. This aids our clients in identifying opportunities at bargain prices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BDO Securities regularly provides guidance to investors through its Weekly Wrap and Technically Speaking articles, among others, using a sound investing strategy or trading plan which caters to the individual\u2019s objectives and risk preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By year-end, BDO\u2019s brokerage arm is
